Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to an inclusive experience for all users

    Our Commitment

Farm Sitters Connect is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to ensure we provide equal access to all users.

    Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

While we strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our platform.

    Measures We Take

Farm Sitters Connect takes the following measures to ensure accessibility:

    • Include accessibility as part of our development process and design requirements
    • Provide sufficient color contrast ratios throughout the interface
    • Ensure all interactive elements are keyboard accessible
    • Use semantic HTML elements for proper document structure
    • Provide text alternatives for non-text content
    • Support browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
    • Ensure form inputs have associated labels
    • Maintain a logical and consistent navigation structure
    • Offer both light and dark theme modes to accommodate visual preferences

    Compatible Assistive Technologies

Farm Sitters Connect is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

    • Screen readers (including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver)
    • Screen magnification software
    • Speech recognition software
    • Keyboard-only navigation
    • Browser-based accessibility tools and extensions

Our platform is built to work with modern web browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge in their latest versions.

    Ongoing Improvement

We view accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time project. Our team regularly reviews and updates the platform to improve accessibility, including:

    • Conducting periodic accessibility audits
    • Training our development team on accessibility best practices
    • Incorporating user feedback into accessibility improvements
    • Testing new features for accessibility before release
    • Monitoring emerging accessibility standards and guidelines

    Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of the platform may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

    • Third-party content and integrations (such as embedded maps and payment forms) may not fully meet accessibility standards
    • Some older uploaded images may lack descriptive alternative text
    • PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers

We are actively working to address these limitations and welcome your feedback.

    Enforcement
